Overview

In this activity, students will investigate patterns and relationships related to the interior and exterior angles of polygons.  Students will also use Geogebra to construct regular and irregular polygons.

Students will construct polygons using dynamic geometric software and use these constructions to investigate patterns and relationships related to the interior and exterior angles of polygons.

Activity Details

  • Students will access the Geogebra class created by the teacher.
  • The students will complete the tasks included in the Polygon Book Project to construct polygons and use these constructions to investigate patterns and relationships related to the interior and exterior angles of polygons.
  • Once students begin working, the teacher can monitor student activity by visiting the Task Overview page.

Background / Preparation

GeoGebra is dynamic mathematics software for all levels of education that brings together geometry, algebra, spreadsheets, graphing, statistics, and calculus in one easy-to-use package. The teacher and students will need to be able to use GeoGebra tools. 

The teacher will need to select the ASSIGN button on the GeoGebra Polygon Project site to create a lesson code to view the students' progress in real-time.
