Learning Objectives

The student will demonstrate their understanding of writing explicit and recursive formulas from an application. 

Activity Details

    1. Direct each student to the Recursive or Explicit, Why Not Both? Exit Ticket.
    2. Instruct the students to answer the prompts provided in the activity.
    3. Circulate while students are working and assist with any questions or problems they might encounter.
    4. The teacher should review the responses of the students and correct any misconceptions.
    5. If the majority of students struggle with a common topic, pause the activity, and address the misconception.

Assessment Strategies

Teachers can collect the exit ticket digitally. Based on responses,  misconceptions or learning gaps can be addressed.

Variation Tips

A PDF version of the exit ticket can be printed from the google slide and a paper version can be printed and distributed to students.

Background / Preparation

Prior to the lesson, the teacher should assign the activity through their desired learning platform.

Teachers should anticipate misconceptions that may arise.
