Overview

In this learning activity, students will watch a video that teaches them to count down from ten in order to see a rocket launch. Students will then practice in groups or independently to re-create their own blast off by counting backward from ten to zero.

Activity Details

  1. The teacher will display the Google slide show Blast Off! On slide two the teacher will say, "When you hear the words 'Blast Off!' what do you think of? Let’s watch this short video to learn how to count backward from the number ten."
  2. The teacher will show the embedded video.
  3. After watching the video, the teacher will have the students work in groups or independently to practice counting backward from ten to zero.

  • The teacher can use the following guideline to ensure students meet the learning objective based on the activity.

Check that the student:

  1. Can count backward from ten to zero independently and without hesitation.
