Activity Details

The learning activity should be used to teach students how to use technology tools to create different poster designs.  The students will be assigned a famous person for their poster.  The students will go to canva.com to create their poster.  They will need to download and save pictures of their famous person.  If they have the pictures saved it will be easier to upload them to their poster.  (Please refer to the Beyoncé poster.)  The students will need to find birthdate, hometown, career, and a famous quote of the famous person they have been assigned.  They should make sure to find a picture that is colorful to display.  After the activity, the students will have the opportunity to share their creations with the teacher and other students.

Assessment Strategies

This activity can assess the mastery of students' ability to use the digital tool, Canva to create posters for presentations.

Background / Preparation

Students will need to create an account.  If your school uses Gmail, then they can use those accounts for setup.  The teacher may choose to do a sample poster and have the students practice creating some before the final product.
