Overview

Students will watch the video clip to gain an understanding of what happens to our trash. Students will learn about recycling and decomposing and the types of materials associated with each. Students will write or draw the process of recycling to show what they have learned.

This activity was created as a result of the GAP Resource Development Summit.

Learning Objectives

Students will be able to list ways recycling protects our natural world and how recycling works.

Activity Details

1. The students will watch the video clip on recycling to gain knowledge of how recycling works, why it is important, and the types of materials that can be recycled.

2. After students have watched the video, the teacher will give students a paper or allow students to work in their science notebook.

3. The students will write or draw the process of recycling and three things they have learned about recycling. Remind students to think back to the video they watched.

Assessment Strategies

Students will write or draw the process of recycling to show what they have learned. Ask the students to list or draw three things that can be recycled.
