*Students can read and interpret words, phrases, and simple sentences in an informational text about housing, such as online advertisements for a house or apartment.

*Students can interpret visual and auditory cues to navigate a website about housing.

*Students can locate target culture cities where properties are located.

    Activity Details

    Real Estate Webquest

*The students will work in a group of 3 or 4 students. They will first go the target-language real estate website and choose a furnished real estate property for rent or sale in a target language speaking city. The teacher may choose to provide a list of preselected furnished properties for students to choose from or give the students time to find one themselves.

*After choosing a property, students will then complete a graphic organizer recording information that they can understand from the website, such as price, size, number of rooms, year of construction, date of availability, location, and special features.

*Students will also view pictures of the various rooms and areas in the apartment or house and each group member will select a room to describe. Students will write out simple sentences describing the room, its size and style, and at least 4 furniture items.
