Learning Objectives

The students will use Google Scholar to locate research-based journal articles and Google searches for other information regarding future manufacturing careers that involve technology.

The students will record website links resulting from their searches on Google Scholar and Google into a Google Keep list.

The students will also copy and paste useful information/quotes from articles discovered in their research.

Activity Details

Students will use technology tools to begin researching for a class presentation on manufacturing careers that use technology.

Students will search for information using the Google Scholar tool. Students will gather information (at least five resources) which will be used in a later assignment where they create a page on a classroom Google Site on the topic of a manufacturing career that uses technology.

Students will record the link to the resource and copy and paste notes into a Google Keep list, which serves as a note card and bibliography card for the upcoming project. This list will be accessed by the students in a later assignment where they create their webpage.

Assessment Strategies

Assessment of this activity will occur when students share their Google Keep lists with the teacher.

Students will meet the reference criteria (a minimum of five sources).

Background / Preparation

The teacher will need to create the class web page assignment on careers.

The teacher will need to explain some basic features of Google Keep to students.

Rubric for information to be included in the webpage project will be provided.
