Learning Objectives

Students will demonstrate how to compare two multi-digit numbers using hand movements representing greater than, less than, and equal to symbols.

Activity Details

This learning activity will be best if used after teaching a lesson on how to compare multi-digit numbers or after a review on comparing multi-digit numbers.

Visit the GoNoodle Website and show the students the following video:  Hollabaloo: Greater Than, Less Than, Equal To.  Allow the students to stand beside their desks and sing along with the video while using the hand movements.  

After viewing the video, show the Google Slides presentation (whole group) and have students demonstrate their knowledge of greater than, less than, and equal to, using the newly learned hand movements to represent comparison symbols. 

Assessment Strategies

Students will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate the correct hand movements that represent greater than, less than, and equal to symbols learned in the GoNoodle video during the whole group Google Slides activity.

Background / Preparation

The teacher will need a computer with internet access, a projector, and speakers. The teacher will need to sign up for a free GoNoodle account prior to watching the video.
