The National Education Association (NEA) is the largest labor union and the largest white-collar representative in the United States. It represents public school teachers and other support personnel, faculty and staffers at colleges and universities, retired educators, and college students preparing to become teachers.

Alabama School Library Association

The purpose of the Alabama School Library Association is to promote the effective use of school library resources, spaces, and professional expertise. ASLA strives to keep Alabama educators informed of emerging trends in library services and materials, to encourage and promote professional growth, and to advocate for the development and improvement of school libraries and librarianship at the local and state levels.  Any person interested in furthering the effectiveness of librarianship in the state of Alabama is eligible for membership.

Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics

The organizational purpose of the Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics is as follows:

  • to provide a vehicle through which teachers and other educators can work individually and collectively for the improvement of classroom instruction;
  • to provide publication and services;
  • to provide a forum for the discussion of new developments in mathematics;
  • to provide an opportunity for sharing innovative classroom experiences and evaluation trends in the teaching of mathematics.
