Foundational Standards
Incorporate safety procedures in handling, operating, and maintaining equipment; utilizing materials and protective equipment; maintaining a safe work area; and handling hazardous materials and forces.

Silviculture Practices
Compare and contrast artificial and natural reforestation methods.
Identify sources of tree seedlings.
Describe proper methods for the handling and care of seedlings.
Compare methods of hand and mechanical planting of seedlings, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
Obtain and share information on the importance of prescribed burning.
Compare and contrast habitats of major forest species in Alabama.

Protection of Forests

Forestry Equipment
