Overview

This learning activity will show students how good sportsmanship can make a worldly impact on sports. The moment was considered the pinnacle of sportsmanship, and it still stands as one of the defining moments of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The students will brainstorm ideas of how to demonstrate good sportsmanship. 

This activity results from the ALEX Resource Development Summit.

    Learning Objectives

    The student will brainstorm ideas about sportsmanship standards.

    Activity Details

    The teacher will ask the students to brainstorm about how to demonstrate sportsmanship. The teacher will allow three minutes for the students to write down their responses. After three minutes, the teacher will allow the students to respond and write down the results on the board. The teacher will introduce the video about Sara Tucholsky. The teacher will now address the brainstorming activity on the board and ask the students if they would add any more ideas.

    The teacher will assess the students informally from their responses from the video, Sara Tucholsky to ensure students are able to describe characteristics of good sportsmanship.
