    Activity Details

The teacher will launch Nearpod and give students a code to begin.

Working as a teacher-paced lesson, follow the instructions in the Nearpod.

The students will create a spreadsheet and collect data from their classmates to create a graph and chart using the data they have collected.

Data recommended in the lesson should include shoe size, birth month, favorite movie, favorite subject, and whether or not classmates have a pet.

The more data with numbers that are used, the more graphs and charts the students can create.

The teacher will use the graph(s) and chart(s) in order to assess the students' work.

    Assessment Strategies

    Assessment Strategies

A grading rubric such as the following could be used to assess each student's spreadsheet:

Did student collect all required data. Complete? 30 pts

Does spreadsheet include graph? 35 pts

Does spreadsheet include chart? 35 pts

    Background and Preparation
